A recent leak, in which supposed Grand Theft Auto 5 plot details were revealed, has turned out to be false.
The rumor was started when someone on GameFAQs claimed they had early access to the upcoming December 2012 issue of Game Informer, which features a full 18-page cover story featuring details and screenshots fo the highly anticipated game. They posted a slew of supposed details about the game, all of which are fake according to an official Game Informer employee.
Game Informers managing editor Matt Bertz took to Twitter, confirming, "Yeah that's fake."
The real December issue is set to release on November 8, 2012. Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has announced plans for the worldwide debut of the second Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer. It will premiere on November 14, 2012.
Grand Theft Auto 5 was recently announced to release in spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3. There is no talk about a PC version of the game, as the studio is currently focused on consoles only at this point. Pre-orders for the eagerly-anticipated game began yesterday.
